Job Title: Domiciliary Care Worker



Location: Gwynedd & Anglesey



Reports To: Senior Manager



Job Type: Full-time / Part-time / Flexible hours available



Full and part time work offered, weekend work only, school friendly hours, evening or mornings only.



The working day typically covers from 7 am to 1.30 pm then between 4- 10 pm.

Job Purpose



The Domiciliary Care Worker is responsible for delivering high-quality, person-centred care to individuals in their own homes, ensuring their dignity, independence, and well-being are maintained. The role involves providing personal care, practical support, and companionship while following individual care plans and adhering to company policies and regulatory standards.

A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential for this role, as travel between service users' homes is required.

Key Responsibilities



Personal Care & Support

Assist service users with personal hygiene, including washing, dressing, toileting, and grooming Support with continence care, including catheter/stoma care (if trained and required) Assist in the safe moving and handling of service users, including using mobility aids and hoists where necessary Prompt medication in line with care plans and company policies

Nutrition & Meal Preparation

Prepare and serve meals and drinks according to individual dietary needs and preferences Ensure service users are supported with eating and drinking, where required Monitor food and fluid intake and report any concerns

Companionship & Emotional Support

Provide social interaction and companionship to reduce isolation and enhance well-being Support individuals in participating in hobbies, activities, and community engagement Promote independence and encourage service users to make choices about their own care

Health & Safety Compliance

Observe and report any changes in service users' health, behaviour, or home environment to management Adhere to infection control procedures and health and safety regulations Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided using company systems

Communication & Teamwork

Work collaboratively with colleagues, healthcare professionals, and family members to provide effective care Maintain clear, professional communication with the care coordination team Attend mandatory training and team meetings as required

Person Specification



Essential Criteria:



Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes Ability to work independently and travel between service users' homes Good written and verbal communication skills in English (Welsh language skills desirable) A compassionate and patient approach to care Ability to follow care plans and adhere to company policies Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, bank holidays

Desirable Criteria:



Previous experience in a care role (domiciliary, residential, or hospital setting) NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or willingness to work towards) Knowledge of safeguarding, mental capacity, and person-centred care principles

Additional Information



This role requires an Enhanced DBS Check (provided by the company if not already obtained). Full training and induction will be provided.
