Strabane & District Caring Services has Full-time (20 hour) contracts available for Domiciliary Care Workers to provide care in the community in either of the CITYSIDE & WATERSIDE areas of Derry/Londonderry

We are a community-based non-profit organisation providing domiciliary care and other community services. POSITIONS AVILABLE:

Morning/Lunch: 7am-2pm, Afternoons 2pm-7pm and Nights 7pm-11pm

Full-Time Domiciliary Carers may work a combination of two of the above shifts on a permanent basis or a permanent morning/lunch run

Rotas are 4 days x 3 days

Week 1:

Mon, Tues, Sat, Sun

Week 2:

Wed, Thurs Fri

RATE OF PAY:

Weekend Rate: Friday Nights and Saturday/Sunday (all runs):

14.15 PER HOUR

Monday-Thursday Bed (Night) runs:

13.15 PER HOUR

Monday-Friday for Morning/Lunch and Afternoon (Tea) runs:

12.60 PER HOUR

PLUS Mileage at 30p per Mile

Job Duties:

As Domiciliary Care Workers, you will work as part of a team to provide personal and domestic care to adults at risk including the frail, elderly and those with mental and physical health issues in their own homes.

Qualifications/ Experience:

Essential:

A full valid driving licence and access to transport for work purposes.

Good written and oral communication.

Work as part of a team.

Understanding of health and safety in the workplace. Able to promote and deliver personal care.

Able to promote dignity and respect in care delivery.

Carers must be flexible and able to cover additional hours when necessary.

Desirable:

6 months experience in formal care setting.

NVQ level 2 in care or equivalent.

NISCC registered or willing to undertake if successful.

Knowledge of domiciliary care minimum standards.

Successful applicants must be willing to carry out Enhanced Access NI check. Having a criminal conviction will not necessarily prohibit you from working with Strabane & District Caring Services. This will depend on the information provided and obtained from disclosure certificate, as well as the position applied for.
