We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to residents in a care home setting, ensuring their comfort and well-being. This employee will report to both Deputy Manager and Registered Manager, based in Merseyside.
This position requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of care plans, and the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals. Driving is preferred for home care visits however, efficient use & capacity to use public transport will also be considered too.
Duties
Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support.
Implement care plans as directed by healthcare professionals, ensuring that each resident's individual needs are met.
Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in residents' conditions to the nursing staff.
Engage residents in social activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
Support residents with meals, ensuring dietary requirements are adhered to.
Maintain personal care & hygiene for the service user, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to foster a supportive atmosphere.
Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes.
Proactively complete online and in-person training to ensure employee is compliant
Engage in staff meetings and on our communications if there are any concerns, issues regarding care or work ethics within the working environment.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is preferred but not essential.
A valid driving licence is desirable for those involved in home care visits.
Strong understanding of English language for effective communication with residents and colleagues.
Proficient IT skills for maintaining records and using healthcare software.
Excellent communication skills, demonstrating empathy and patience when interacting with residents.
