We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Automatic Door Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing automatic door systems across various commercial and residential properties. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The position offers an opportunity to develop expertise in cutting-edge door automation systems, ensuring safety, security, and convenience for our clients.
Responsibilities
Install, commission, and service automatic door systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
Diagnose faults using schematics, system design documents, and diagnostic tools to identify issues efficiently.
Conduct routine maintenance to ensure optimal operation of door mechanisms, sensors, access control systems and control panels.
Repair or replace mechanical components such as motors, gearboxes, hand tools, power tools, and electrical parts.
Integrate system components including telecommunication devices, and other security features.
Test electrical circuits and wiring using appropriate tools; ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety regulations.
Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements and provide technical support or training as needed.
Maintain detailed records of service activities, repairs, and system upgrades for documentation purposes
Although this is an 'on the road' position, you will be required to attend our Clacton on sea office most days to collect equipment
The role involves travelling with potential overnight stays, as and when required
Skills
Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience relevant to automatic door systems is essential. Training will be provided for specific equipment
Proficiency in reading schematics and system design documents for troubleshooting and installation purposes.
Experience with electrical components, control panels, wiring and access control systems is preferred.
Familiarity with construction environments and the use of hand tools, power tools
Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately.
Understanding of system design principles for automation solutions involving electrical components and security systems.
