WHAT TO EXPECT

The opportunity is within the Body Closures - Door Systems team within Body Engineering. Reporting to the Door Access Mechanism Group Leader with matrix reporting to the Programme Module Leader, you will lead the electronic and SW engineering design, technical development, and delivery of mechatronic products for JLR new programmes or On-going Program Development (OPD) through to Launch at the Manufacturing plant achieving Supplier Parts Submission Warrant (PSW) in line with programme timing ensuring integrity of the door and vehicle systems across specific programmes

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

You will be responsible for delivery of the HW / SW commodity plan to quality, cost and time, including maintaining the Worldwide Engineering Release System. You will own and deliver the Engineering Advanced Product Quality Planning deliverables. You will be accountable for managing Change Request, SW/HW Releases, Expenditure forecasting and the relevant supplier teams in support of delivery of the programme milestones. You will also manage design verification test plans, including detailed planning of test and development stages through to sign off and support Engineering test teams with rectification of issues. You will ensure all appropriate JLR standards are met through-out design maturation and provide input into new feature development.

WHAT YOU NEED

  • Good working knowledge of product creation & delivery, change control, product definition and change management processes in automotive environment
  • Technical knowledge of automotive mechatronic systems
  • Experience in defining HW / SW engineering requirements and specification (HW / SW / Cyber Security / Diagnostic )
  • Experience in defining HW / SW test plan
  • Experience as Leader to manage and organise activities with internal stakeholders
  • Supplier management exp\xc3\xa9rience on HW / SW Design

  • Systems Engineering knowledge
  • NFC Protocol Knowledge
  • Cybersecurity for Automotive application
  • HW Design skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with influencing and engagement skills.
  • Previous experience within automotive engineering or test planning departments.
  • Experience with Agile
