The Door Supervisor plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for patrons and staff in various venues. This position involves overseeing entry and exit points, ensuring compliance with licensing laws, and providing exceptional customer service while managing any potential security issues. The ideal candidate will possess strong surveillance skills and be adept at loss prevention techniques.
Duties
Monitor the entrance and exit of the venue to ensure safety and security for all guests.
Conduct thorough checks of identification to verify age and compliance with licensing regulations.
Utilise CCTV systems to observe activities within the venue, identifying any suspicious behaviour or potential threats.
Implement loss prevention strategies to minimise theft and damage to property.
Respond promptly to incidents, providing first aid when necessary and liaising with emergency services as required.
Maintain a visible presence to deter anti-social behaviour and ensure a welcoming atmosphere for patrons.
Document incidents accurately and report them to management as needed.
Collaborate with other security personnel to ensure effective communication and response strategies.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a security role is preferred, particularly in a supervisory capacity.
Strong understanding of surveillance techniques and loss prevention methods.
Proficiency in operating CCTV systems effectively.
First aid certification is highly desirable; candidates should be willing to undergo training if not already certified.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage positively with the public.
Strong observational skills and attention to detail, enabling quick identification of potential issues.
Ability to remain calm under pressure while managing challenging situations effectively. This role requires a proactive individual who is committed to ensuring the safety of all individuals within the venue while upholding the highest standards of professionalism.
