Doula and Breastfeeding Support Worker

22.5 hours per week

Salary 14,979.7

The role will include:

Providing breastfeeding support and guidance to families in the community and hospital settings, including home visits. Supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and the postnatal period, ensuring access to appropriate resources and care. Assisting in the recruitment, training, and supervision of volunteer doulas, ensuring quality standards are maintained. Collaborating with health professionals and partner agencies to deliver joined-up care and promote the service. Maintaining accurate records, complete monitoring and evaluation tasks, and contribute to continuous service improvement.

To be successful in this role you will:

Understand current guidance and issues around breastfeeding and provide informed support. Communicate effectively with parents and professionals, both verbally and in writing. Organise and plan work independently while being flexible and able to respond spontaneously. Work collaboratively with multiple agencies and maintain confidentiality and safeguarding standards. Use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and online databases confidently for record-keeping and reporting.
