Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Drainage Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, installing, maintaining, and repairing drainage systems across various projects. This role requires a practical individual with strong mechanical aptitude, capable of working both independently and as part of a team to ensure efficient and effective drainage solutions. The position offers an excellent opportunity to develop technical expertise within the civil engineering sector.

Duties

Conduct site assessments to determine drainage requirements and identify potential issues. Design and plan drainage systems in accordance with project specifications and industry standards. Install, repair, and maintain drainage infrastructure using appropriate tools and techniques. Utilise welding, plumbing, carpentry, and assembly skills to construct and modify drainage components. Operate power tools, hand tools, and specialised equipment safely and effectively. Perform heavy lifting of materials and equipment as required for installation or repairs. Collaborate with other engineering professionals to ensure project specifications are met. Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards. Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and project progress.

Qualifications

Proven experience in drainage engineering or civil engineering roles involving drainage systems. Proficiency in welding, plumbing, carpentry, and assembly work. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate power tools and hand tools confidently. Basic mathematical skills for measurements, calculations, and technical drawings. Experience with heavy lifting and physical labour tasks associated with construction sites. Valid commercial driving licence is desirable for site transportation purposes. Knowledge of safety protocols related to working with heavy machinery and construction environments. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining high safety standards. Candidates should be organised, detail-oriented, and possess excellent problem-solving skills to succeed in this role. Prior experience with industrial or civil drainage projects will be considered advantageous.

Pay: 32,500.00-40,000.00 per year
