Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Drainage Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and practical skills to effectively manage drainage systems. This role involves a combination of technical expertise and hands-on work, ensuring that drainage solutions are designed, implemented, and maintained to the highest standards.

Responsibilities

Design and develop effective drainage systems for various projects, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards. Conduct site assessments to evaluate existing drainage conditions and identify potential issues. Utilise hand tools and power tools for the installation and maintenance of drainage systems. Perform heavy lifting as required when handling materials and equipment. Assemble components of drainage systems, ensuring proper functionality and durability. Collaborate with other engineers and construction teams to ensure seamless project execution. Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and any issues encountered during the installation process. Provide technical support and guidance to junior staff or apprentices as needed.

Qualifications

Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in drainage engineering or related fields. Proficiency in basic maths for calculations related to design and installation tasks. Ability to weld and plumb effectively as part of system installations. Experience with commercial driving is advantageous for transporting materials to job sites. Familiarity with carpentry skills is a plus, enhancing versatility in project tasks. Capability to operate various hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently. A proactive approach to problem-solving with the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Willingness to undertake physical tasks, including heavy lifting, as part of daily responsibilities.
