We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Drainage Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing drainage systems across various sites. This role requires a practical individual with a strong understanding of mechanical systems, plumbing, and construction techniques. The position offers an excellent opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilise a range of tools and skills, and contribute to the efficient management of drainage infrastructure.
Duties
Conduct inspections of drainage systems to identify faults or blockages
Repair or replace damaged pipes, fittings, and other drainage components using appropriate tools and techniques
Install new drainage systems in accordance with technical specifications and safety standards
utilise welding, plumbing, carpentry, and assembly skills to complete complex tasks
Operate power tools and hand tools safely and effectively during maintenance activities
Perform heavy lifting and manual labour as required for installation or repair tasks
Work with commercial driving equipment to transport materials or equipment between sites
Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed efficiently and safely
Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
Requirements
Proven experience in drainage installation, repair, or maintenance roles
Proficiency with welding, plumbing, carpentry, and assembly work
Ability to operate power tools, hand tools, and heavy machinery safely
Mechanical knowledge relevant to drainage systems and infrastructure
Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations during installation or repairs
Experience with commercial driving is advantageous but not essential
Physical fitness for heavy lifting and manual tasks in various weather conditions
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
Valid driving licence suitable for operating commercial vehicles or lorries is desirable
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
