We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Drainage Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, installing, maintaining, and repairing drainage systems across various projects. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, plumbing, and construction techniques, alongside practical skills with hand tools and power tools. Duties
Design and plan drainage systems in accordance with project specifications and safety standards
Install, repair, and maintain drainage infrastructure using appropriate tools and techniques
Conduct site inspections to assess existing drainage conditions and identify areas requiring attention
Utilise welding, carpentry, plumbing, and assembly skills to construct or modify drainage components
Operate heavy machinery and power tools safely during installation and maintenance activities
Perform precise measurements and calculations using basic maths to ensure accurate system layouts
Collaborate with other engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure project requirements are met efficiently
Undertake heavy lifting when handling materials or equipment on-site
Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and safety compliance
Ensure all work complies with relevant health and safety regulations
Qualifications
Proven experience in drainage engineering or related construction fields
Proficiency with welding, hand tools, power tools, and assembly techniques
Strong knowledge of plumbing systems and mechanical principles involved in drainage solutions
Ability to perform basic maths calculations accurately for measurements and system design
Competence in carpentry skills relevant to drainage installation projects
Physical capability for heavy lifting and working in demanding environments
Valid commercial driving licence is desirable for transportation between sites
Experience with site inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs in drainage systems is advantageous
Good organisational skills with attention to detail for documentation purposes
