At Pate's, our Drama Department is a dynamic and integral part of school life, inspiring students to
explore, perform, and grow.A passionate team, supported by specialist LAMDA instructors, our Drama
Department is a hub of energy and excellence.
Drama is a popular subject at our school, with excellent facilities, including a dedicated, spacious and
well-equipped drama studio, featuring LED lighting, moving heads, a new lighting desk, modular
staging and an extensive collection of costumes, props, and masks - all designed to bring
performances to life and support imaginative teaching.
Beyond the classroom, Drama thrives through a rich programme of extra-curricular activities. From
student-led Lunchtime clubs to school productions in our fully equipped Hall, students are encouraged
to take on roles both on stage and behind the scenes. Our student Tech Crew and mentoring
initiatives foster leadership and collaboration across year groups.
One of the highlights of the year is our House Drama competition - an event where students create
and perform their own 20-minute pieces, showcasing their creativity and teamwork.
Regular theatre visits further enrich our students' experience, exposing them to a wide range of
professional performances and styles.
