Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate, skilled, and engaging
Drama Teacher
to join our team. The ideal candidate will inspire students across all age groups with imaginative drama classes that focus on performance technique, storytelling, and confidence-building. You will be responsible for developing scripts and drama exercises for term-time classes, special events, and end-of-year showcases, while creating a positive and disciplined learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging and age-appropriate drama classes to students aged 4-18.
Teach acting techniques, improvisation, script work, and character development.
Direct and rehearse performances for showcases, events, and presentations.
Create a supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages creativity and self-expression.
Collaborate with the dance and singing teachers to deliver cross-disciplinary projects and performances.
Monitor and report on student progress and wellbeing.
Ensure all health, safety, and safeguarding procedures are followed.
Person Specification
Essential:
Experience teaching drama to children and young people in a structured setting.
Degree/working towards or professional training in drama, acting, or performing arts.
Strong knowledge of acting techniques, stagecraft, and performance skills.
Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
A confident, enthusiastic, and approachable manner.
Commitment to Razzamataz's ethos of nurturing creativity and confidence.
Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check and provide references.
Desirable:
Experience in directing and show production.
First aid training.
Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
Working Hours
Term-time Saturdays (typically between 8:45am-3:30pm). Additional hours for show rehearsals, events, and training may be required.
