Qualified Teacher FTE salary: 28,887 - 40,990 / Qualified Teacher actual working salary: 26,618 - 37,771



Unqualified Teacher FTE salary: 26,308 - 33,474 / Unqualified Teacher actual salary: 24,242 - 30,845



40 Hours per week, 42 weeks per year

(starting salary dependent on qualifications and experience)

We have an exciting new opportunity at Brantwood Specialist School to teach Drama skills (including voice, movement and acting techniques) to groups of students of mixed abilities. You will be collaborating with other drama teachers and tutors within the Trust to prepare for and stage productions. The school provides a child-centred curriculum, adapted to each child's developmental and learning needs, and the opportunity to discover each child's path to lifelong learning, offering a variety of educational programs designed to meet the needs of students with developmental delays, social and sensory sensitivities, Autism, SEMH and learning difficulties.

Main Duties:



To teach the students drama skills, movement and acting techniques To be a part of ongoing assessment of students learning needs and to make reasonable adjustments as required minimising barriers to learning and achievement. To be responsible for delivering teaching and training with a therapeutic and supportive approach, wherever possible linking students learning activities into processes that the Trust refer to as Practical Skills Therapeutic Education (PSTE) To instil enthusiasm and enjoyment into the learning process in such a way that can lead to increased self-esteem and enhanced engagement in learning

In order to be successful in this role you will have:



Experience of teaching Drama Hold or be working towards relevant teaching qualifications Excellent communication and organisational skills with practical approach to engaging pupils Experience of working with children/young people with special educational needs and learning disabilities who may be on the autistic spectrum
Brantwood Garden School is located on the outskirts of Sheffield. In addition to the main campus it includes a smallholding and a theatre/performing arts space. The curriculum at Brantwood includes clay work, jewellery making, felting and weaving, forge work and green woodwork.
