Role Title: Draughtsperson/Technical Drawer

Reports to: Design Manager

Wentwood is a family run business, dedicated to creating truly bespoke, beautiful and functional products for your home, office & event.

We are actively involved in each part of our clients projects from design and concept, through to manufacture and installation, giving our clients the confidence in our final product. We love the variety of styles and ideas, we collaborate to create with our clients but love those projects that don't necessarily follow the trends,or perhaps combine different styles to create something really unique. Wentwood serve across 3 industries from domestic interiors, commercial interiors & events.

Wentwood are designers & producers of joinery products from our 500m2 manufacturing facility, including design studio, machine shop, assembly & spray booths. We are a busy team and are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled?Draughtsperson?to join our design and production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating precise technical drawings and detailed CAD models to support the manufacture and installation of custom joinery and event backdrops and exhibition stands. Working closely with project managers, designers, and workshop teams, you'll help translate creative concepts into accurate and buildable production drawings.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

The job comprises of the main areas outlined below

Produce detailed 2D technical drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Sketchup & Layout or similar software Interpret design briefs, sketches, and concept drawings to generate production-ready drawings Liaise with the design, production, and project management teams to ensure accuracy and feasibility of drawings Prepare cutting lists, material specifications, and assembly guides for workshop teams Revise drawings based on feedback from internal teams or clients Ensure all drawings are produced to a high standard and in accordance with project timelines Maintain and update technical drawing files and records Support project installations with technical documentation where required
Requirements:

Proven experience as a Draughtsperson, ideally within bespoke joinery, interiors, exhibitions, or set build industries Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks (or equivalent CAD software) Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and joinery techniques Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills Ability to interpret and visualise creative design concepts into technical outputs Good communication and collaboration skills Ability to manage time effectively and meet project deadlines Attend team meetings. Managing set personal targets.
Required skills

To be successful in this role, you should exhibit experience in a similar role of design or draughting. Be process driven, controlled under pressure and importantly a team player for the delivery of a very demanding sector of manufacturing. The ability to multi-task in a complex and demanding environment and have the ability to build and maintain highly effective working relationships with a range of people (both internally and externally).

Desirable Skills:

Experience working in a workshop or manufacturing environment Knowledge of CNC machinery and programming Familiarity with SketchUp, Revit, or Adobe Creative Suite
