Full-Time Driver & Maintenance Assistant - Oldway Heights Care Home (Paignton)

Oldway Heights Care Home in Paignton is looking for a reliable, friendly and hands-on Full-Time Driver & Maintenance Assistant to join our welcoming, family-run team.

This is a varied and rewarding role ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in practical work, and is happy to support the smooth running of our home.

About the Role

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday, with the occasional evening or weekend shift if required for resident appointments, events, or maintenance needs.

Driving Duties (Primary Focus):

Safely transporting residents to appointments, activities and community outings

Picking up day-care clients in the morning and taking them home in the afternoon, as required

Driving for scheduled hospital visits, shopping trips and social outings

Ensuring the Oldway Heights vehicle is kept clean, roadworthy and well-maintained

Supporting staff on escorted trips when needed

Maintenance & General Support (When Not Driving):

Assisting the Maintenance Manager with day-to-day repairs, safety checks and upkeep

Carrying out basic DIY tasks, small repairs and general maintenance

Helping move furniture, set up rooms and maintain the overall environment

Supporting practical jobs around the building

Being a friendly, approachable presence for residents and staff

About You

We're looking for someone who is:

A confident and responsible driver (clean full UK licence required)

Friendly, patient and caring

Practical and hands-on, with a willingness to get stuck in

Organised, reliable and able to work independently

Experienced with maintenance/DIY (helpful but not essential)
