Job Summary

The Driver and warehouse operative plays a crucial role in supporting the delivery process assisted be a drivers mate. Loading and unloading goods, ensuring that deliveries are completed efficiently and safely. This position requires a keen attention to detail and a strong commitment to maintaining high standards of service. Drays, also known as crews, will work closely with each other, as well as the whole team to facilitate smooth operations within the warehouse and during transit.

Responsibilities

Assist in loading and unloading goods from vehicles, ensuring that items are handled with care. Learn and develop navigating routes and delivering goods to various locations. Engage in picking and packing activities, ensuring accurate order fulfilment. Maintain an organised stock area, ensuring that materials are stored correctly. Operate forklifts safely when required, adhering to all safety protocols. Licence provided after probation if you do not have a licence. Perform heavy lifting tasks as necessary, demonstrating physical stamina and strength. Manual handling training provided. Handle materials with care, ensuring that all items are accounted for during the delivery process. Collaborate with team members to build efficient workflows and enhance overall productivity.

Skills

Proficient in picking packing techniques and stock management. Experience operating forklifts is desirable but not essential. Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks consistently throughout the shift. Familiarity with warehouse management procedures for effective inventory control. Strong materials handling skills, ensuring safe transport of goods. Capability to build effective working relationships within a team environment. Competence in loading and unloading procedures to ensure safety and efficiency. Safe driving and an open mind for lateral thinking, and the occasional show.
