Job Overview

Specialist Vehicle Rental are nationwide providers of dual control and adapted vehicles for disabled drivers and passengers. All of our vehicle are delivered and collected to and from our base just outside of Birmingham. This role requires the ideal candidate to have had experience within this role however not essential, it is also a self employed position and the candidate needs to be able to have good attention to detail, be well mannered and presentable to customers and be a safe driver.

We plan the routes for the return journey and cover all costs associated with this. The routes back are planned via various methods of transport but the majority is bus and trains, so confidence using these services is required.

We operate 7 days a week from so hours can be flexible depending on preferred start and end times, we require a minimum of one Saturday to be worked per month.

Responsibilities

Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in safe working condition. Maintain accurate delivery and collection records and communicate effectively with the logistics team regarding any issues or delays. Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving, ensuring the safety of yourself and others on the road. Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, representing the company professionally at all times.

Requirements

Valid driver's licence minimum of 2 years Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role for a minimum of 1 year. Ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients. Flexibility to work varied hours as required by the delivery schedule.
