Contract: Fixed term (until 31st August 2026)

Working Hours: Part time (5 hours per week, Monday to Friday-term time only, 39 weeks per year, includes Teacher Training Days). Usual working hours will be 2.40pm until 3.40pm

Avon Valley Academy is looking to appoint a confident and reliable Driver to cover afternoon minibus transport for its students. This is a fantastic, part-time, opportunity to join a dedicated team of staff that encourages all students to have high self-worth and love coming to school.

Located in Durrington, Wiltshire, our school has a strong reputation for being at the heart of the community and has built strong relationships with the two local army bases at Larkhill and Bulford. With our strong pastoral care and high standards for behaviour, we aim for every lesson and every day to be exceptional so that each individual can thrive and our dedicated and supportive staff go the extra mile to help all our students achieve their dreams. In May 2022 we joined Acorn Education Trust, which provides exciting opportunities to collaborate and improve local education.

The successful candidate will have a full, clean driving license, be organised and consistent, and have a solid understanding of Health and Safety requirements. Previous experience in a similar driving role is desirable.

We are looking for someone who:



Holds a full, clean driving licence and is prepared to drive a minibus; Has strong interpersonal and communications skills and can liaise effectively with school staff and pupils; Has a can-do attitude with excellent practical and organisational skills; Can prioritise and schedule effectively and efficiently; Is self-motivated, dedicated and consistent; Is a strong team player who can use their own initiative; Is aware of health and safety requirements; Has previous experience in a similar role (desirable).
