This role offers the right candidate an opportunity to become part of a growing automotive company as a self employed vehicle transport and recovery driver. The position will be based from Horsham, West Sussex with vehicle movements across the UK.

The driver should expect to transport a range of vehicles from classic cars through to brand new high value and high performance vehicles as well as non running restoration projects, breakdown recoveries and A2B transport.

Class 1/Class 2 driver needed. We are looking for self employed full time driver with a valid UK Driving License with both

Category B and BE & Category C1 and C1E.



Job Role Includes:



Collection and delivery of vehicles from various locations across the UK for both corporate and private clients. Driving a range of transporters including: 3.5 T, 7.5 T trucks and 3.5 T open and enclosed trailers. Loading and unloading vehicles safely according to specified procedures. Recovering broken-down vehicles to garages or dealerships. Conducting regular checks and completing any relevant paperwork. Keeping vehicles clean, tidy and in a safe roadworthy condition. Carry out general maintenance to the vehicles and yard e.g. washing/valeting. Driving a variety of vehicles with different start-up procedures in a safe manner. Dealing face-to-face with customers, sometimes in stressful and dangerous circumstances.

Candidate Requirements:



Be confident, safe and a good driver. Trailer towing experience is highly desirable. Drivers will need a smart appearance and excellent customer service skills. Maintain a friendly, approachable and well-mannered attitude. Enthusiastic/knowledgeable about new and classic cars is desirable. Be good at communication and problem solving. Have good time keeping and planning skills. Be fluent in spoken and written English. Be flexible and adapt quickly to change at last minute. Have the ability to adapt to working in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment. Maintain a cool head under pressure with good concentration skills. Be willing to work weekends and extended/unsociable hours during peak periods. Be physically fit, loading cars is not always easy or straightforward. Early and late starts/finishes with some overnight stays away required. Be able to take a work vehicle home for callouts/on call (depending on location and parking availability).

Essential Requirements:



Pass a DVLA check Pass a DBS check Pass police check (CRB) Have held a valid full UK driving licence for a minimum of 5 years due to commercial insurance stipulations. Fluent spoken and written English. Good geographical knowledge of UK roads. References required.
The successful candidate will be working on behalf of a professional company and is expected to maintain a reliable, smart, polite, enthusiastic and professional attitude at all times.

Comprehensive induction training will cover all aspects of the role.

Trailer towing experience is highly desirable.



Uniforms are provided and in some cases a company vehicle can be taken home for on call purposes.

Up to 40 hours per week. Position can be part time or full time depending on candidate experience and preference. Possibility to remain on 'call out' duty.

Overtime depending on availability and request.

Salary will be 14.00-15.00 per hour depending on experience, mid week and weekend working flexible.
