Purpose
Reporting to a Central Operations Shift Leader this role involves driving a variety of vehicles over a variety of road conditions. Overall driving standard needs to be at a high level and drivers needs to have the skill to be able to communicate feedback on each vehicle driven.

Working hours Monday to Friday 0600-1400, 1400-2200, 2200-0600. Weekly rotation through all 3 shifts

Responsibilities

  • Drive various vehicles in a proving ground environment and on public roads
  • Drive prototype and production vehicles to their respective test schedules
  • Communicate (written and verbally) feedback on each vehicle
  • Participate in ongoing training to increase skill set to confidently drive all types of vehicles
  • Drive high powered vehicles at high speeds
  • Drive all types and sizes of passenger carrying vehicles
  • Drive all types of large vehicles up 100tons
  • Drive various military vehicles on road and off road
  • Act in accordance with the behaviours for UTAC staff at all times
Qualifications

Qualifications
  • Full UK driving licence
  • CAT C+E licence (preferred)
  • Driver CPC (preferred)
Experience
  • At least 5 years driving experience
  • Ability to drive CAT C1 vehicle
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle mechanical components
  • Awareness of health and safety procedures and practises
  • Experience within the automotive industry (desirable)
  • Experience in off road driving (desirable)
  • Working in a Proving Ground environment (desirable)
Skills
  • To be able to follow strict written and verbal instructions
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Full UK driving licence & own transport (UTAC Millbrook is not easily assessable via public transport)
  • SC clearance or ability to achieve this (UK national with residency in the UK for the last 5 years)
  • Willing to undergo a Criminal Disclosure check
  • NOTE: This position be will based on site
