As a Driver, you play an invaluable role supporting the day to day running of our hospitals, providing vital services within the community, all with a smile on your face. There isn't another role like this around in the driving sector - so it goes without saying that full training will be given which will include all aspects of driving duties - we know you will proudly wear the uniform provided and join a team of colleagues from all backgrounds who work together to keep the hospital ticking smoothly.



Please note the operational hours for this service are 7am and 7pm so you may be required to work any time during this period (total 7.5 hours a day Monday-Friday with some occasional Saturday work).



Interviews are currently scheduled to take place on the 2nd and 3rd of October.



The Transport Service would love to introduce you to our team if you are a conscientious and dedicated team player who is interested in providing a gold standard for our patients.



Roles within the Trust Transport Service include delivery and collection of ,but not limited to, blood transfusions, microbiology samples, equipment and stock items. Using Chorley Hospital as a base you will be providing services to and from local Hospitals, Surgeries, Health Centres and Clinics. Depending on the specific task, you will be required to drive manual vehicles from a small van to a Luton van where you will be expected to operate a tail lift.

Communicate verbally with clinical areas and Doctors surgeries and the Portering supervisor and colleagues by phone and through written procedures, ensuring an effective exchange of information about Driving tasks and service needs



Communicate on and off site with a range of clinical and non-clinical staff.

Undertake Driving duties as required

Drive vehicles on Trust business

Identify and act upon any potential risks or hazards within the working environment

Assist during a fire or a major incident

Pro-actively support the continued improvement of the service

Maintain and develop own competence for the role
