Work on exercises and operations setting up and maintaining communications.

Our soldiers and officers need to be in contact at all times. You make sure that's possible, Looking after your regiment's communications equipment. You set up our cutting-edge systems when we move around the battlefield - in fact, you're often one of the first people on the scene. You will work closely with officers and soldiers to establish cutting edge communications, passing on information and keeping operations moving.
You'll be trained to use radio and digital communications systems.
Gain qualifications as well as learning to driver a range of vehicles and also gain new skills in sports and adventurous training whilst in this exciting dual role.
TRAINING FOR THE ROLE
(once you you have passed Army selection and the joining process)
Step 1
You start by training to be a soldier with your Reserve unit.
Step 2
Once you've learned to be a soldier, you'll train as a Communications Operator over a 2 week course. You'll take further courses to build your skills later on.
If you don't have your driving licence already, we'll help you get it.
You can also get your C+E licence (for driving lorries) while you're with us.

NATIONALITY & RESIDENCY:
You must be a British or Irish citizen, or hold a Commonwealth/British National Overseas/British Overseas Territory passport and have ILR (Indefinite Leave to Remain) status to join the Army Reserves.
If you have Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) or Indefinite Leave to Enter (IIE) must be stamped on your passport, and you must have been resident in the UK for a minimum of 5 years.

PAY & BENEFITS
You'll get paid a day rate according to your rank, starting from 66.12 in training and rising yearly once you're a Trained soldier.
You will get paid a daily rate according to your rank and qualifications, once you have completed your initial recruit training. You can also receive an annual bonus payment if you complete all your training commitments in your spare time. In addition, you may be entitled to travel expenses, access to a free on site gym, discounted rail fares and an Army Service Pension
