Driver Co-Ordinator - Street Cleansing Teams - 4 x 37 hours
Band 6 - 26,403 to 28,142 (37 hours - 13.69 to 14.59 per hour)
6.30am to 2.30pm Monday to Thursday
Friday 6.30am to 2.00pm
Based at Harris Street Depot Bradford, but working across the District.
We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic Driver Co-ordinators within the Street Cleansing Department to undertake activities such as the litter picking, sweeping, graffiti and fly poster removal, emptying waste bins and removing fly-tipping.
You will be also assist in provision of remedial grounds maintenance work such as grass cutting, hedge cutting, use of strimmers, blowers and weed-spraying as and when required.
A driving licence is essential
We are looking for people who can demonstrate the following competencies: -
Supervise and organize staff/resources and workload
Drive a vehicle up to 5.5 tons (desirable)
Able to communicate politely with members of the public and others.
Understands the importance of keeping public areas clear of litter and rubbish and can list the hazards which fly tipping, overflowing waste bins and rubbish could create to members of the public.
Able to carry out manual tasks to an acceptable standard.
Able to work with others at a joint task or on their own.
Able to keep an accurate record of events.
Able to follow instructions in order to operate equipment safely or carry out operational task.
Understands and can implement health and safety risks appropriate to the job.
