Overview

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in commercial driving, with experience in delivery and warehouse operations. This role requires excellent communication skills and a solid understanding of vehicle mechanics, particularly for flatbed vehicles. As a Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

Duties

Operate commercial vehicles, including flatbed lorries, to transport goods to designated locations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations. Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of items during transit. Maintain accurate delivery records and documentation as required. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise. Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving. Provide assistance in the warehouse as needed, contributing to inventory management and organisation.

Requirements

Valid commercial driving licence with appropriate endorsements for the vehicle type. Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is highly desirable. Mechanical knowledge of vehicles to perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting tasks. Experience operating flatbed vehicles is preferred. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Previous warehouse experience is an advantage but not essential.
