Overview

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of vehicle operation and maintenance, along with excellent communication skills. This role involves transporting goods safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies. Candidates with experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed or van vehicles, will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

Safely operate delivery vehicles, including flatbed lorries and vans, to transport goods to designated locations. Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition and report any mechanical issues. Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays. Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage during transit. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage and fuel usage. Follow all road safety regulations and company policies while driving. Assist in the warehouse as needed, contributing to a smooth operational flow.

Experience

Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred. Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and safety standards is essential. Mechanical knowledge is advantageous for performing basic vehicle maintenance tasks. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with team members and customers. Experience working in a warehouse environment is a plus, as it enhances understanding of logistics operations.
