As a Driver Labourer, you'll provide essential support to our skilled trade operatives, from transporting materials to assisting on site, helping us deliver high-quality services to residents across Bolton.
Key Responsibilities
Transport materials, tools, and equipment to and from sites, ensuring timely and safe delivery.
Load and unload vehicles in line with manual handling procedures and site safety requirements.
Carry out a range of labouring duties such as site clearance, digging, mixing, demolition, fencing, power washing, and general maintenance tasks - including working at height where necessary.
Support the upkeep of van stock, checking inventory levels and ensuring materials are ready for use.
Safely handle glazing and building materials, as required by the nature of the works.
Clear and clean properties and gardens, removing waste and debris and disposing of it appropriately.
Complete daily vehicle checks and report any defects to ensure compliance with transport regulations.
Use a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) to receive and complete jobs as part of our mobile working approach.
Work collaboratively with trade operatives, contractors, and partner agencies, maintaining respectful communication with customers.
Uphold Equality, Diversity & Inclusion principles and report any Health & Safety issues promptly.
What you'll need to succeed
A full valid driving licence.
Strong communication and customer service skills to work effectively with colleagues, contractors, and customers.
Ability to safely load, transport, and unload materials, tools, and equipment.
Practical experience in construction, repairs, or property maintenance (desirable).
Confidence in carrying out a variety of labouring tasks, including site clearance, groundwork, and supporting skilled trades.
Good digital skills, including using mobile devices and Microsoft 365 applications such as Teams and Outlook.
Understanding of health and safety regulations, including manual handling, working at height, and site safety.
A collaborative, solutions-focused approach, with strong organisational skills to prioritise tasks effectively.
