Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries to various locations. This role requires a strong understanding of vehicle operation and maintenance, as well as excellent communication skills to interact with customers and warehouse staff.

Duties

Operate delivery vehicles, including vans and flatbed lorries, to transport goods to designated locations. Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working order and report any mechanical issues. Load and unload cargo, ensuring that items are secured properly for transport. Maintain accurate delivery records and communicate effectively with warehouse personnel regarding delivery schedules. Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving. Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, addressing any inquiries or concerns from clients. Assist in warehouse operations as needed, including inventory management and organisation of goods.

Skills

Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge to identify basic vehicle issues and perform minor repairs if necessary. Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and team members effectively. Ability to drive various types of vehicles, including commercial lorries and vans. Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics processes is advantageous. A valid driving licence appropriate for the type of vehicle being operated is essential.

Pay: 14.97-16.22 per hour
