Responsibilities

Safely operate company vehicles, including flatbed lorries, to deliver goods to various locations. Plan routes effectively to ensure timely deliveries while adhering to all traffic regulations. Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and report any mechanical issues promptly. Load and unload goods, ensuring items are secured properly during transit. Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery schedules or issues. Assist with warehouse tasks as needed, including inventory management and stock organisation. Uphold high standards of safety and professionalism at all times during driving duties.

Qualifications

Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly as a delivery driver or in similar roles involving driving responsibilities. Valid UK driving licence with relevant categories; experience as a driver is advantageous. Mechanical knowledge sufficient to perform basic vehicle inspections and troubleshoot minor issues. Experience operating flatbed vehicles or similar specialised transport is desirable. Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients. Previous warehouse experience is beneficial for understanding logistics operations. Knowledge of safety regulations related to commercial driving and transportation.
