Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Driver to join our clients team based in Edigburgh. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and materials around a busy yard safely, ensuring timely deliveries while providing excellent customer service to inhouse colleagues. This role requires a strong focus on safety, adherence to traffic regulations, and the ability to handle heavy lifting and moving tasks. The hourly rate for the driver postion will be 13ph

Duties

Safely operate a box truck or other commercial vehicles for deliveries. Load and unload goods from the vehicle, ensuring items are secured properly. Navigate routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules. Provide exceptional customer service during interactions with colleagues. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety standards are met. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage and fuel usage. Assist in warehouse operations as needed, including using forklifts and pallet jacks for moving materials. Handle manual transmission vehicles when required.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar driving role. Strong customer service skills with a focus on client satisfaction. Previous yard experience is preferred, including familiarity with loading and unloading procedures. Ability to perform heavy lifting and moving tasks as necessary. Valid UK driver's license with a clean driving record; commercial driving experience is a plus. Knowledge of route driving and navigation systems is essential. Experience operating forklifts or pallet jacks is advantageous. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively while adhering to schedules.
