We are looking for a reliable, professional, and safety-focused

School Transport Driver

to carry out school runs within the

Westmorland and Furness

area. The role involves transporting children safely and punctually to and from school while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, safeguarding, and compliance.

This position is ideal for drivers who take pride in safe driving, reliability, and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Safely operate a licensed vehicle in accordance with road traffic laws, council regulations, and company policies Transport pupils to and from school on designated routes Ensure all pick-ups and drop-offs are completed on time Conduct daily vehicle safety checks and report any faults immediately Maintain a clean, safe, and child-friendly vehicle environment Communicate clearly with parents, schools, and transport coordinators Follow safeguarding procedures and ensure child welfare at all times

Strictly adhere to all legal requirements, licensing conditions, rules, and compliance standards

Skills & Requirements

Previous professional driving experience (school transport, taxi, or similar preferred)

Valid Hackney or Private Hire Driver's Licence

Wolverhampton Hackney licence accepted*

Enhanced DBS preferred

(or willingness to obtain) Strong understanding of safeguarding and passenger safety Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Good knowledge of local routes or ability to use GPS confidently Reliable, punctual, patient, and professional at all times

Must comply with all council, DVLA, safeguarding, health & safety, and company regulations
