Summary

We are seeking a responsible and experienced Driver to join our team in the South West on a part time basis. This role is vital in ensuring our clients receive timely and safe transportation services, helping them achieve greater independence. The Driver will be based in the area and will play a key part in supporting our mission of empowering individuals.

Hours required

Friday 06.00am - 10.00am

Friday 18.00pm - 22.00pm

Saturday 06.00am - 10.00am

Saturday 18.00pm - 22.00pm

Sunday 06.00am - 10.00am

Sunday 18.00pm - 22.00pm

There is a possibility that these hours may need adjusting to suit the business needs.

Responsibilities

Safely operate company vehicles to transport clients and staff as needed. To pick up staff from pre-arranged locations and drive them to Clients houses in Devon and Cornwall, picking up staff at Clients houses and returning them to Plymouth. When requested to: to drive clients and their support team as directed, for meaningful / therapeutic community activities / appointments etc. To complete vehicle checks before driving, completing documental evidence, resolving issues as and when necessary or report to the Maintenance team when further action is needed. Maintain cleanliness and mechanical condition of vehicles. Plan routes efficiently to ensure timely arrivals. Complete mileage forms for each journey. To maintain accurate, concise, and timely records. Communicate effectively with clients and team members. Assist clients with boarding and disembarking when necessary. Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies. Keep accurate records of trips and vehicle maintenance. Support the company's commitment to safety and client well-being. To conform to all Policies and Procedures laid down by the Organisation in respect of carrying out these Care Duties and in other administrative aspects of the business, as relevant. To participate as directed by the Registered Manager / Senior Support Worker in Induction Training and regular In-service Training programmes. To participate in Staff, Team and Quality Management Review Meetings as directed by the Registered Manager / Senior Support Worker.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a professional driver, preferably with delivery or commercial driving background. Valid UK driving license suitable for the vehicle type. Good mechanical knowledge for basic vehicle maintenance. Excellent communication skills. Ability to plan routes and manage time effectively. Reliable, punctual, and customer-focused. Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to driving.
