We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Porter to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facility by assisting with various tasks related to the movement of goods and maintaining a clean and organised environment. This position requires strong communication skills and a willingness to work collaboratively with other team members.
Duties
Operate vehicles for the transportation of goods, ensuring timely deliveries and pickups.
Assist in loading and unloading items from vehicles, including flatbed lorries.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the warehouse and surrounding areas.
Perform routine inspections on equipment and vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding inventory levels, delivery schedules, and any issues that may arise.
Provide support for various warehouse operations as needed, including stock management and order fulfilment.
Qualifications
Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred.
Commercial driving experience is highly desirable, along with a valid driving licence.
Mechanical knowledge to assist with basic maintenance tasks is an advantage.
Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics is beneficial.
Strong communication skills to interact effectively with colleagues and clients.
