Job Overview:


We are seeking a reliable, patient, and safety-conscious Driver to support a wheelchair-bound client with transportation to various locations, including hospital appointments, family visits, social outings, community activities, and other scheduled engagements. The ideal candidate must demonstrate professionalism, compassion, and excellent communication skills while ensuring the client's comfort, dignity, and safety at all times.

Key Responsibilities:



Safely transport the client to and from medical appointments, therapy sessions, community activities, social visits, and other scheduled destinations. Provide assistance with wheelchair loading, securing, and unloading using appropriate equipment (e.g., wheelchair ramps, lifts, tie-down systems). Ensure the vehicle is in safe, clean, and fully operational condition before each journey. Plan routes effectively to ensure timely arrival, accounting for traffic, weather, and accessibility needs. Maintain clear communication with the care team regarding schedules, delays, or any concerns related to transport. Provide respectful, patient, and supportive interaction with the client throughout the journey. Maintain confidentiality regarding all client information. Adhere to all road safety regulations and company policies. Report any incidents, vehicle issues, or safety concerns promptly to management.

Requirements:



Valid UK driving licence (clean record preferred). Previous experience supporting individuals with mobility needs or working within a care environment (preferred but not mandatory). Ability to safely operate wheelchair-accessible vehicles (WAVs). Physically capable of assisting with wheelchair manoeuvres. Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and a calm, respectful approach. Punctual, reliable, and able to follow schedules accurately. Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Desirable Skills:



First Aid training. Knowledge of safe manual handling techniques. Experience working with vulnerable adults.
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary

Pay: 12.00-18.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
