Are you a reliable, motivated driver who enjoys a role where no two days are the same? We are an established event hire company operating across the Cotswolds and surrounding areas, and we are looking for a dedicated Driver to join our professional team.
This is a vital role within our logistics operation, ensuring our high-quality event equipment is delivered and collected safely and on time. We are currently recruiting for a start date in February 2026.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
As a Driver, you will be responsible for the safe transport of equipment and the leadership of your crew on the road. Your main responsibilities will include:
Vehicle Operation: Safely operating company vehicles to various locations and prestigious venues across the Cotswolds and beyond.
Team Leadership: Working closely with and supervising a Driver's Mate to ensure efficient loading, unloading, and site setups.
Loading & Unloading: Overseeing and assisting with the manual handling of event furniture, tableware, and decor, ensuring all items are handled with care.
Route Management: Planning and navigating routes effectively to ensure all deliveries and collections are completed according to the daily schedule.
Cargo Security: Ensuring all loads are correctly secured and weighted to prevent damage and maintain road safety.
Customer Relations: Acting as a professional point of contact for clients and venue managers on-site.
Vehicle Compliance: Conducting daily vehicle checks, maintaining cleanliness, and reporting any maintenance or safety concerns immediately.
Health & Safety: Adhering to all road safety regulations and on-site health and safety protocols.
Skills & Experience Required
The ideal candidate will be hardworking, punctual, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for:
Licensing: A valid UK driving licence with a clean record - ability to drive 3.5tn low loaders.
Experience: Proven experience in delivery driving or logistics, preferably within a commercial or events-based environment.
Physical Fitness: The role is physically demanding and involves regular heavy lifting and manual handling.
Navigation: Excellent knowledge of local routes and the ability to use navigation tools effectively.
Communication: Strong interpersonal skills for liaising with the office team, your mate, and clients.
Reliability: A committed work ethic and the flexibility to work varied hours as required by the event schedule.
