Role Overview:

As a

Driver

at POSTX, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and timely delivery of goods using electric vehicles with hitched box trailers. You'll be responsible for safely executing pre-set, regionalised multi-stop routes, and delivering goods. Most typically starting from our client's warehouse, your routes may involve swapping trailers with other drivers or direct deliveries to customers. This role is perfect for someone who is dynamic, punctual, and passionate about sustainability and problem-solving on the go.

Key Responsibilities:



Route Execution:

Drive electric vehicles along pre-set, multi-stop routes, adhering to schedules and delivery plans.

Trailer Management:

Pick up trailers, safely hitch them to vehicles, and ensure secure handling of goods during transit.

Delivery Operations:

Deliver goods to customers deliver goods with care - especially when handling potentially fragile items at designated drop-off points, ensuring safety, punctuality and accuracy.

Trailer Swapping:

Facilitate trailer swaps with other drivers as needed, ensuring a smooth transition and adherence to route plans.

Vehicle and Equipment Care:

Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and vehicle cleaning, ensuring vehicles and trailers are in good working condition and reporting any issues promptly.

Proactive Communication:

Anticipate and address any problems and maintain open and timely communication with internal and external parties.

Accurate record keeping:

Ensure all route stops and deliveries are accurately recorded in our internal tracking system using live time-stamps and picture evidence.

Customer Interaction:

Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, ensuring a positive experience at every touchpoint, including when unexpected issues arise.

Problem-Solving:

Troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise during the route, such as delays or unexpected changes to delivery plans.

Safety & Compliance:

Adhere to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company procedures to ensure a safe and efficient operation.

Qualifications:



??Valid Class B license with no more than 6 penalty points. Preferred but not essential: ADR licence, or Class B+E or higher (HGV license). For insurance purposes, drivers must be at least thirty years of age and have at least 3 years of driving experience Experience driving electric or large vehicles is a plus but not required (training will be provided). Comfortable driving electric SUVs with medium to large trailers (4.5m-6.5m in length, similar to car transporters) across the UK. Ability to handle physical tasks and lift goods up to 30kg, and loading/unloading goods as needed. Experience operating electric pump trucks. Familiarity with trailer hitching and maneuvering. Previous experience in delivery or logistics roles. A strong commitment to sustainability and supporting POSTX's mission. Previous experience in a startup environment or a willingness to embrace its dynamic nature is a plus.

Other details:



Generally drivers are scheduled for day time or night time shifts, without differentiated compensation between day/night. There may be overtime required and associated pay some weekends/evenings. We generally try to keep driver hours within 40 hours/week but would require some flexibility to scheduled based on client needs. Please note this is a Self-Employed (Individual or Company) position paid on an hourly rate As a self-employed driver, please be advised that it is your responsibility to provide and maintain your own Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required for your role. This may include, but is not limited to, high-visibility clothing, safety footwear, and gloves
