Greater Metal Company is a London-based business specializing in the recycling and recovery of metals across the UK. We work with garages, towing companies, and private clients to collect, transport, and process end-of-life or damaged vehicles safely and in accordance with environmental regulations.
Main Responsibilities
Drive company vehicles (such as a car transporter, recovery truck, or flatbed) to collect cars from customers, garages, or industrial sites.
Load and unload vehicles safely using the appropriate equipment (winches, ramps, chains, etc.).
Inspect vehicles before collection and complete all required paperwork (collection forms, certificates, V5 documents, etc.).
Transport vehicles to designated processing or recycling sites.
Follow assigned routes and schedules while ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Maintain the vehicle in clean and safe working condition, performing daily checks and reporting any defects.
Provide a professional and courteous service to customers and partners.
Requirements
Valid UK driving licence (Category C or C+E, depending on vehicle type).
Proven experience driving car transporters, recovery trucks, or similar heavy vehicles.
Good knowledge of London roads and surrounding areas.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple collections per day.
Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling and outdoor work.
Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious.
CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) qualification is an advantage.
Working Conditions
Schedule:
Monday to Friday 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM (occasional Saturday work may be required).
Based in London with regular travel across the region.
