Warehouse Operative /Driver


We have an excellent opportunity for Warehouse Operative/Driver to join our team based in Rotherham.

The Role

As a Driver/Warehouse Operative you will report to the Warehouse Manager/Branch General Manager. You will be responsible for the delivery of materials to customers, as well as supporting the warehouse team in picking, cutting and storage of materials.

Your duties will include:

Regular customer delivery's in a pick up vehicle via a delivery manifest To work efficiently and safely in the operation of machinery to lift and load material onto wagons to driver's manifest provided. To store, pick and cut metal stock in the warehouse through good housekeeping and quality control procedures. To work as part of a team with other warehouse operatives to load and unload materials in timely fashion To show courtesy and be helpful to customers/suppliers when collecting, delivering or returning materials to warehouse Maintain a safe workplace without risk to health by proper and timely assessment of risks to health and safety, and to implement measures and arrangements identified as necessary from the management

The Person

As a Driver/Warehouse Operative, you will need to have:

Ability to work to deadlines on own and show initiative to raise any problems. Great Communication skills to liaise with all types of staff and customers. An ability to understand and learn different machinery to enable cutting, lifting and storage of materials. Basic health and safety knowledge.

Hours & Rewards

As a Warehouse Operative/Driver you will work Mon -Fri 07:00-16:00

Circa 25,400 per annum depending on hours worked 4%/4% Matched Contributory pension scheme 20 days Holiday plus 8 Statutory Holidays (5 x Christmas shut down)*
Overtime @ 1 1/2 hrs Free local parking
