Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Transport team as a Driver. We are looking for a strong team player to ensure delivery of ambient, chilled and frozen products safely and efficiently to our customers at designated locations within set timeframes and planned routes.

Salary:

28,500 (OTE - 30,300, 150 per month discretionary bonus after successful probation based on role KPI's)

Location:

Watford - Unit 7a, Oldhams Trading Estate, St Albans Road, Watford, WD24 7RY

Hours of work:

Full Time - 40 hours per week on average, 5 days out of 7, routes start at 05:00

Key job responsibilities:

Driving a 3.5t company vehicle on a pre-determined multi-drop route, vehicles pre-loaded Ensure that the correct goods are delivered to the correct customer, completing the relevant paperwork To follow the relevant route sheets for the order of van deliveries and to complete all relevant documentation To regularly update the delivery instructions for all drops on daily routes to enable other drivers to deliver successfully e.g. names of roads and clear instructions for access to customers' premises, places to park To drive and park in a manner that is safe and legal. The driver is responsible for any fines for road traffic offences, parking fines etc. Keep company vehicle clean and ensure it is well-maintained, has fuel, oil and is ready to drive. Communicate with customers by phone to update them on time of delivery, any issues or changes to their estimated time of arrival Follow pre-planned route accurately without deviation from set course Maintain communication with management to be informed of any changes to delivery, route or schedule Properly use and maintain delivery equipment, including handheld PDA and Ensure goods are delivered in good condition Ensure vehicle is safe to drive Report any vehicle defect to the Transport Team Leader Inform management of any obstructions to making safe, efficient deliveries on time

What do you need?

Full UK driving licence (no more than 6 points) No driving disqualifications within the last Three years Minimum of 2 years commercial driving experience Previous multi-drop experience Good knowledge of London and the South of England Must be 21 years of age to comply with insurance requirements Good communication skills Excellent customer service skills Excellent attention to detail Ability to drive long distances and sit for long periods of time Ability to work under pressure Courteous
