Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and professional Driver to join our team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering goods efficiently and safely, ensuring timely service while maintaining high standards of vehicle and cargo safety.

Driver required fr driving company van to and from local suppliers from our industrial unit in Wigan WN3 6XR Greater Manchester to local suppliers throughout the Cheshire and Lancashire areas. Hours varry depending on workload.

The role also includes some general warehouse duties, packaging, wrapping, securing pallets and products.

Would suit somebody from and engineering background, pay and hours negotiable for an immediate start.

Responsibilities

Safely operate company vehicle, a L3 small flatbed lorry, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations Plan and execute delivery routes efficiently to meet deadlines Load and unload goods, ensuring proper securing of cargo during transit Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues promptly Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and clients regarding delivery schedules and any unforeseen delays Assist with warehouse duties when required, including inventory management and stock organisation Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the vehicle at all times

Qualifications

Proven experience in commercial driving and delivery roles Valid driver's licence suitable for the specific vehicle type (e.g., driver) Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients Previous warehouse experience is advantageous Knowledge of safe loading practices for various cargo types, including flat loads on flatbeds Ability to work independently and responsibly under pressure
