Overview

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in commercial driving and delivery, with a focus on safety and efficiency. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to handle various driving tasks, including operating flatbed/drop side vehicles. A solid understanding of mechanical principles is advantageous, as is experience in warehouse operations.

Responsibilities

Safely operate commercial vehicles, ensuring compliance with all traffic regulations and company policies. Execute timely deliveries to designated locations while maintaining a high standard of customer service. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition. Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo, particularly on flatbed vehicles. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage and fuel consumption. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and management team regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues. Assist with general duties as needed, including inventory management and organisation.

Requirements

Valid commercial driving licence with appropriate endorsements for the vehicle type. Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar driving role. Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting. Experience operating drop side vehicles up to 3 tonne is preferred but not essential. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with customers and team members. Previous site experience advantageous. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and professionalism at all times.
