are looking for an

LGV Class 2 Driver (Diver/Porter)

to lead and manage a team of motivated workers, ensuring the safe loading of vehicles or storage containers.

Our LGV Class 2 Driver (Move Team Leader) will be fully conversant with and conform to all relevant Company procedures and will ensure Company instructions and standards of discipline, workmanship and safety of themselves and the workers under their direct control are maintained at all times.

JOB PURPOSE:

A self-motivated person capable of delivering superior customer service by demonstrating a high degree of leadership, flexibility and a conscientious approach to getting the job done. There is a requirement for the jobholder to manage a Regional Branch in the Manager's absence. The jobholder will be fully conversant with and conform to company procedures and will ensure company instructions, standards of discipline, workmanship and safety of themselves and the workers under their direct control are maintained at all times.

EDUCATION & TRAINING

Literate and numerate. GCSE Mathematics and English or equivalent standard desirable. Candidate will obtain valid LGV (category C or C+E). Candidate will obtain valid Drivers CPC Certificate. Compliant with established legal tachograph procedures. Attended Advanced Packing Skills Course and passes assessment. Attended Supervisory/Team Leader Skills Course and passed assessment. Attended Customer Service training (as available). Attended Introduction to Management training (as available). Attended Health & Safety/Risk Assessment training (as available). Attended FLT training, where applicable.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

Handling customers to a superior level of service delivery. Directing and controlling team members, liaising directly with customers. Good geographic knowledge of UK. Knowledge of working time directive. Ensuring Company instructions and standards of discipline, workmanship and safety (including accident reporting) are maintained at all times. Advanced supervisory and team leadership/motivated skills. Ability to work from plans/drawings and instruct staff accordingly. Knowledge and compliance of 'O' License regulations and working time directive. Knowledge and experience of office and commercial work. Knowledge and experience of implementing Health & Safety Regulations and conducting Risk Assessments. Experience of on job coaching of all branch staff.

Superior driving record.

Have the necessary experience in the moving industry.

Have a clean disciplinary record for the previous 12 months.

High degree of problem solving.

Willingness to work away from home for periods of time and some weekends as directed.

Ability to make appropriate business decisions unsupervised in the Company's and customer's best interests.

Be able to brief and debrief move teams and take any necessary action.

When not otherwise directed, be able and willing to complete the duties and responsibilities of the Move Controller.
