Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Porter to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our facilities while ensuring the smooth operation of deliveries and logistics. This position requires a proactive individual with strong communication skills and a solid understanding of mechanical operations.

Duties

Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in designated areas, including warehouses and delivery zones. Assist with loading and unloading goods from vehicles, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage. Operate flatbed vehicles and vans for deliveries, adhering to all safety regulations. Conduct routine inspections of equipment and vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition. Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding inventory levels and any issues that arise. Provide support in warehouse operations, including stock management and organisation of materials. Assist with basic mechanical tasks as needed, utilising mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a Porter or in a similar role is preferred but not essential. Valid driver's licence with experience driving vans or flatbed vehicles; commercial driving experience is an advantage. Strong mechanical knowledge to assist with equipment maintenance and troubleshooting. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with team members and clients. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. A proactive approach to problem-solving and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
