To provide assistance with all aspects of the Fleet Driving, as designated by the Transport Manager, in conjunction with the Director of General Services' direction. All tasks should be carried out in a professional and safe manner and should meet the required standard of work as required.
To drive the College vehicles in a responsible and competent manner, ensuring the safety of passengers, other road users, members of the public and yourself at all times.
Collect and return vehicle keys from the Security office.
Carry out vehicle checks before and after use and complete Vehicle Log.
Report any vehicle defects, faults, incidents and accidents to the Transport Manager.
Ensure all rubbish is removed from the Vehicle after use.
Refuel vehicles after use as required from the fuel store at the Estates Department.
Ensure the Vehicle is parked safely in the correct location after use.
Work within the constraints and guidelines as set out in the College Driving Policy
Participate in any arranged College training and appraisal to improve your standards of performance.
You are required to work with and assist all other members of the General Services - Transport Team, as necessary, with the duties and tasks undertaken for operational Needs.
The College may, due to operational requirements, expect you to undertake reasonable tasks and duties in line with your employment at any location on the College campus if requested.

To conduct this role in line with driving legislation the following must be met; to hold a current and valid driving license that was passed prior to 1997 and either has a Full D1 or D1 (101) and +E (Trailer) and a current MiDAS Assessment.

By arrangement, the operation of the Fleet is an important part of the College operation. The support of the Fleet Driver is vital and as such there is a requirement to be flexible with working hours.
