Overview

The Driver's Mate plays a crucial role in supporting the delivery operations of our logistics team. This position involves assisting the driver with loading, unloading, and delivering goods to various locations. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a willingness to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. A background in warehouse operations or experience as a delivery driver is advantageous.

Starting times range from 5:30/6:00am

Duties

Assist the driver in loading and unloading goods from the vehicle, ensuring safe handling of all items. Help navigate routes and communicate effectively with the driver to ensure timely deliveries. Maintain accurate records of deliveries and returns, ensuring all paperwork is completed correctly. Support the driver in conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any mechanical issues as necessary. Ensure the cleanliness and organisation of the vehicle and warehouse area. Collaborate with warehouse staff to manage inventory and assist with stock replenishment as required. Adhere to all health and safety regulations during transportation and handling of goods.

Requirements

Previous experience in a warehouse or as a delivery role Basic mechanical knowledge to assist with vehicle maintenance checks. Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with team members and clients. Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances. Physically fit, with the capability to lift heavy items when necessary. A proactive attitude towards teamwork and problem-solving.

We are looking for weekend work, at least one day on the weekend.
