What you need to know about the role



As a Driver Operator in the Vacs Jets and Tankers (VJT) team, you will support our busy manufacturing environments across the Scunthorpe site. Working Monday to Friday these roles are based on a 42 hour working week inclusive of a 30 minute meal break each day.



You will be part of a proactive manufacturing team, working towards production targets and ensuring the highest health and safety standards are maintained throughout. Health and Safety is our number one priority and as such you will receive all the relevant training in this area to ensure you have the highest level of knowledge to maintain a safe working environment.



Contributing to initiatives related to improving health and safety performance, you will take an active part in risk assessment/hazard identification for all plant/operational activities and taking account of appropriate regulations.



Key responsibilities of these roles include but are not limited to:


General cleaning within our manufacturing areas ensuring plant availability within the area. Removal of waste products generated from the manufacturing process such as scale, dust, coal, tar and salt Use of HP water jetters and jet vac and vacuum loading equipment Driving of tankers Operating material handling equipment in a safe and productive manner adhering to all safe working procedures and work rules



What we need to know about you



We are looking for highly motivated, flexible, reliable and enthusiastic individuals



To be considered for this role you

must

:

Hold a full, clean, Class 2 (Cat C) or Class 1 (Cat C+E) licence

Hold National CPC certification Be physically fit as the role can be quite physically demanding Be flexible and able to work a variety of shift patterns to cover for holidays, sickness, and unforeseen issues. Have an understanding of the implementation of basic vehicle and trailer maintenance Be able to facilitate optimum productivity and safety




Previous experience Jet vac HP jetting Vacuum machines and tankers desirable, however full training and assessment will be provided.



You should also have a good general education, ideally including GCSE's in English and Maths at grade 4 (C) or above.
