The carer will assist with
day-to-day living, rehabilitation exercises, and delegated healthcare tasks
, ensuring the client's comfort, dignity, and well-being at all times. A key part of the role will be promoting independence, supporting reablement, and encouraging active participation in daily life as the client transitions back home.
The carer
must hold a full UK driving licence
and be
confident driving a wheelchair-accessible vehicle (WAV)
to support the client with appointments, outings, and social activities.
Principal Responsibilities
Provide personal care and daily living support, including washing, dressing, toileting, and mobility assistance.
Promote
independence and reablement
, encouraging the client to participate actively in their own care and daily routines.
Support rehabilitation goals as guided by physiotherapists, occupational therapists, or clinical teams.
Undertake
delegated healthcare tasks
, including
bowel management
and other specialist procedures as trained and assessed competent by Eximius.
Safely operate and support the use of
mobility equipment
, including wheelchairs, hoists, transfer aids, and other assistive devices.
Drive the
wheelchair-accessible vehicle (WAV)
for appointments, outings, and social activities, ensuring the client's safety and comfort at all times.
Support with medication administration or prompting as per Eximius policy and care plan.
Prepare and serve meals in accordance with the client's preferences and dietary requirements.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised living environment, including light household tasks such as laundry, tidying, and meal preparation.
Provide companionship, emotional support, and reassurance, recognising the psychological adjustment that can accompany spinal cord injuries.
Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, therapists, family members, and the Eximius care team.
Record daily notes and observations accurately on the PASS system, ensuring all updates are completed digitally (no handwritten notes).
Adhere to Eximius policies and procedures at all times, including safeguarding, health and safety, data protection, and confidentiality requirements.

This is a live-in position supporting a client with a spinal cord injury, focused on rehabilitation, independence, and high-quality care. A confident driver with the ability to operate a wheelchair-accessible vehicle is essential.
