JOB SUMMARY & WORKING DETAILS



Job Title: Driving Technician
Responsible to: Warehouse Manager
Place of work: 17 Fairways, Cheshunt, EN8 ONJ
Salary Range: 25,000 to 28,000 per annum dependent on experience
Weekly Hours: 42.5 hours per week, 8.5 hours per day with a 30 minute lunch break. 5 days per week,

Monday to Sunday as required, with a maximum of 2 weekends expected per month.
Overtime: Overtime rates are pro-rated according to your salary. You will be required to work late, outside of 'normal hours' during busy periods and a flexible approach to overtime will be required.

Holiday: 30 days including bank holidays. Our holiday year runs from March to February.

JOB OUTLINE



This role will be based at our warehouse in Cheshunt and will involve working mainly across London and the home counties as well as further afield. We have an increasingly busy schedule and are looking for a Driving Technician to support the with the operations and logistics of the business. As you may work for significant periods of time alone or with only a small number of colleagues, you will need to be to be highly motivated, proactive and able to work well autonomously. The events industry is notoriously a high-pressured environment so maintaining a cool head in the face of adversity (or London traffic) is essential. As our lead driver, you will become a well-known face of Rockit and so a personable, friendly and can-do attitude is our highest priority. We pride ourselves on having a people-first culture and highly-regarded reputation so it is essential that you represent this to everyone you encounter. On a day-to-day basis, you may be required to carry out deliveries and collections, supporting the loading and unloading of vehicles. You will also need to be supportive to the on-site team, being involved with the build and de-rig of jobs as well as sometimes spending time preparing and de-prepping kit in the warehouse. During loads and unloads, you will take an active lead, ensuring that the process is efficient, maximising time and space. Our equipment is our pride and joy and our vans are very much part of this - you will take responsibility for maintaining all vehicles to the highest standards and ensuring they are fully stocked. You will need to maintain accurate records and have a close eye for detail, identifying potential problems. You will need excellent time management skills to ensure all work is completed efficiently and thoroughly. We are a small company so you will need to be willing to support all aspects of the company workload. The job will require manual handling with heavy lifting as well as customer facing activities, so you must reflect our high standards and hard working ethos throughout. It is important that you have clean personal hygiene, smart presentation and a polite, accommodating personality. Live events can mean long hours, with early starts, late evenings and work at the weekends so a positive, good humoured attitude is essential alongside a passion for and dedication to the industry.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



To include but not restricted to:

Delivery, collection and returns of our own equipment to events Collection and return of sub hire and purchases to/from suppliers Loading and unloading kit from vans and trucks Ensuring delivery and job paperwork is accurately completed, processed and stored Take responsibility for the maintenance and upkeep of the vans Carrying out simple maintenance tasks for the vans Preparing and de-rigging kit pre and post event Preserving a tidy, safe and efficient working environment at all times Maintaining and repairing equipment in our stockholding Warehouse general maintenance PAT testing Maintaining a good and up-to-date working knowledge of the latest technologies in your field Complying with health and safety regulations and procedures Any other reasonably requested duties as requested by the management

ESSENTIAL SKILLS



Full, clean, UK driving license Experience driving vans Comfortable driving large vans in Central London Experience maintaining vans Some knowledge and experience with Lighting, Sound, Video, Staging or Set Basic electrical knowledge Physically fit and capable of heavy lifting Exceptional customer service with a polite and accommodating approach Comfortable working at height Tidy and organised working style with excellent time management skills 'Can do' and flexible attitude Proactive and self-motivated Driven and happy to work alone Strong team player Thorough approach to working with close attention to detail Proven ability to work well under pressure Excellent communication skills

DESIRABLE SKILLS



1-5 years commercial driving experience On-site experience as live event crew or a technician Qualification or experience related to AV, live events or theatre production IPAF qualification Electrical experience Rigging experience Experience working with staging and set
