Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Plasterer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plastering and related construction skills. This role involves applying plaster to walls and ceilings, ensuring a smooth finish, and preparing surfaces for painting or other finishes. The Plasterer will work both independently and as part of a team on various projects, with a particular focus on trial holes for inspection, and then patching and repairing to a very high standard.

Duties

Apply plaster to interior and exterior walls and ceilings, ensuring an even and smooth finish. Prepare surfaces by cleaning, repairing, and priming as necessary before application. Work with various materials, including traditional lime plaster, gypsum plaster, and modern alternatives. Collaborate with other tradespeople such as carpenters, electricians, and masons to ensure seamless project execution. Use hand tools effectively for mixing, applying, and finishing plaster. Conduct repairs on existing plasterwork, including patching cracks and holes. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following health and safety regulations. Assist in the fabrication of mouldings or decorative features as required.

Experience

Proven experience in plastering or a related field is essential. Familiarity with additional skills such as painting, plumbing, electrical work, welding, fabrication, carpentry, roofing, masonry, or the use of hand tools is highly desirable. Ability to read technical drawings and specifications is an advantage. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure while meeting deadlines. Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members.

Pay: 16.63-24.29 per hour
