Meridian is looking for an DSP engineer to join our talented and innovative Research and Applied Technologies team. This role will be working alongside the Electronics and Embedded Software teams to develop high performance audio products such as loudspeakers, digital pre-amps and surround controllers.
They will be responsible for the maintenance and development of the DSP platforms and codebase for Meridian's existing and future products. They will also work alongside the research and acoustic engineers within the Research and Applied Technologies team on the research and development of new and innovative audio signal processing algorithms.
We are looking for someone with a good degree in a relevant field (e.g. engineering, acoustics, computer science, physics or mathematics), plus 2-5 years hands-on DSP experience, preferably in the audio industry. Experience in developing DSP platforms on ADI SHARC hardware (214xx and 215xx) is highly desired. They should also be familiar with prototyping of algorithms in MATLAB and/or Python. Experience of audio measurement systems such as Prism dScope, Audio Precision, Soundcheck or similar, is also necessary.
Required experience:
Hands-on DSP experience (preferably within the audio industry)
ADI SHARC DSP development
Working knowledge of C and/or C++
DSP filter and algorithm design
Prototyping and development of algorithms in MATLAB and/or Python
Exposure to hardware/software DSP system design principles
Exposure to a range of development environments (e.g. Eclipse, MS Visual Studio, XCode, ADI Visual DSP, Make, Sigma Studio, CrossCore Embedded Studio)
Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and Perforce
Desirable experience:
Assembly language programming (56xxx preferred)
Basic understanding of electronic design and diagnostics
